Privacy Policy

Last updated: 01/10/2026

This policy explains what personal information Bot ‘n’ Brush collects when you use botnbrush.com, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. We’ve kept it in plain English.

1. Who we are

Bot ‘n’ Brush (botnbrush.com) is an independent website based in the United Kingdom. Bot ‘n’ Brush is a trading name of Nathaniel Sellen-Brown, who is the data controller responsible for your personal information.

You can contact us about anything in this policy at home@botnbrush.com.

2. The short version

  • You can read Bot ‘n’ Brush without telling us who you are.
  • We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, but only if you agree to analytics cookies.
  • If you email us, we use your details only to reply.
  • We never sell your personal information.
  • When you click a link to a retailer, that retailer’s own privacy policy applies from then on.

3. Information we collect

When you browse the site

If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics to collect information about how you use the site. This includes the pages you visit, how long you stay, the website that referred you, the type of device and browser you use, and your approximate location (country or city). We look at this information in aggregate to understand which content is useful. Google Analytics doesn’t give us your name or contact details, and we have not switched on Google’s advertising features.

Our web host keeps standard server logs. These record technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the date and time of your visit, and are used to keep the site secure and working properly.

When you click an affiliate link

Some links on our site are affiliate links (see our Affiliate Disclosure). Our link-management software records that a link was clicked, along with basic technical information, so we can see which links are used. When you arrive on a retailer’s website, the retailer or its affiliate network may set cookies to record that you came from Bot ‘n’ Brush. The retailer’s own privacy and cookie policies apply on their site. We receive reports of sales and commission, but these don’t tell us who you are.

When you email us

If you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and anything else you choose to tell us.

Comments

Comments are switched off on Bot ‘n’ Brush, so we don’t collect information through comment forms.

6. Who we share information with

We don’t sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that help us run the site, and only as much as they need:

  • Hostinger: web hosting and our email service

These include UK adequacy regulations, the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and the International Data Transfer Agreement approved by the Information Commissioner.

8. How long we keep information

  • Server logs: kept by our host for a short period for security purposes, in line with its standard retention.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example when we launch a newsletter or change the tools we use. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
