Bot ‘n’ Brush is free to read. To pay for the time it takes to research and write our guides, we earn money through affiliate links. This page explains how that works, and how we keep it separate from our recommendations.
What an affiliate link is
Some links on our site go to retailers such as Amazon and other UK shops. If you click one of these links and buy something, the retailer may pay us a small commission. You don’t pay anything extra. The price is the same as if you’d gone to the retailer directly.
Retailers usually track this with a cookie that lasts for a limited time after you click. Our Privacy Policy has more on cookies.
Who we work with
We earn commission through programmes including:
- Awin, an affiliate network that works with many UK retailers
- Other affiliate networks, and retailers’ own affiliate programmes
How we keep our recommendations independent
- Commission never decides a recommendation. We choose products based on our research, then look for good places to buy them. We don’t pick a product because it pays more.
- We recommend products we don’t earn from. If the best option for you is sold somewhere we have no affiliate relationship with, we’ll still recommend it.
- No paid placements. Brands can’t pay to appear in our guides, to be ranked higher or to be reviewed.
- No sponsored reviews. If we ever publish content a brand has paid for, it will be clearly labelled as an advert at the top.
- Free products are disclosed. If a manufacturer or retailer gives or lends us a product, we’ll say so in the article. It doesn’t guarantee coverage or a positive review.
How you’ll know
Every article that contains affiliate links has a short notice at the top explaining this. Buttons and links to buy a product, such as “Check price”, are affiliate links unless we say otherwise.
Prices and availability
Prices, deals and stock levels change often, sometimes several times a day. We try to keep our guides current, but please check the price and details on the retailer’s website before you buy. The retailer’s price is the one that applies.
